Recipe to change a bathrobe into a raincoat

(at least for costume purposes!)
Ingredients:

One shawl-collared Gilligan & O'Malley purple cotton waffle robe from Target - $19.99 With pins to mark and make notches.

<-----------

Four brave cuts with scissors and a spool of brown thread to topstitch collar, cuffs, belt and pockets.
---------------->
Add ten brown buttons to create illusion of double-breasted front, and to pockets and cuffs...

Voila! Virtually indistinguisable from real raincoats during performance! And it's actually cute enough to wear in public as a lightweight coat. Did you see the spring coat montage in yesterday's New York Times' Sunday Styles Section - Pulse by Ellen Tien - "Apply a Light Coating" on page 3?
