Here is a Valentine card I made for my friend. She was very close to her sister, who passed away last year on Valentine's Day. (Mary was also my friend, too...JoAnn is my bonus, 2-fer friend!)
On the back I wrote, "A bond between two sisters is stitched together forever"
The piece is cut out from a vest I made years ago, velvet appliqued over flannel and then washed and dried. I zig-zagged it over light weight denim. The beads are those black glass faceted beads which either look gold, blue or black, depending which way they are turned. The heart is the same way, except there is a pinkish cast to one of the shadings. I thought it all worked together well!
