Today's iPod Workout Song
Done with busted up knees and waiting for them to heal…
This is song is on my iPod Shuffle for swimming and skating. Great beat!
I especially like the start up change up at :55, to 1:07 and again at 2:06/2:18.
I be flying in both forms of water - liquid and solid
The Madden Brothers - "We Are Done" - 3:36

Rescue Me

| Good save! |
Once again, my iPod Shuffle got wet.
Fortunately on two counts, my Interval waterproof (hmm) case from X-1 Audio was still in the one year warranty (by 15 days, whew!) and they are sending me a replacement.
And this time I put the Shuffle in rice in a metal container (the stainless steel canister for my rice) for three days. Hubby had heard that putting it in metal container would help it dry out faster. Worth a try since my first Shuffle could not be revived. I could still get a light to come on unlike the first time, so there was a smidgen of hope.
Sure enough, it worked! (After I thwacked it on the counter to dislodge the bits of rice and powder so the charger would fit in all the way).
Lesson learned to err on the side of caution and take out the iPod after each swim.

Today's iPod Workout Song
Van Halen - "Why Can't This Be Love?" - 3:48
Great way to kick off the summer swimming season!
And with a new suit, too! I love Reebok and, especially if you are tall, you will, too!
Reebok (Style #864555) really fits and flatters without looking "mumsie"...and holds up through the sun and water. I can usually find them on sale or use a coupon at Macy's.
Update 6-1-14 -- Right now if you order online today, you can save an additional 15% off the sale price with the coupon code "SUPER"

Today's Favorite iPod Workout Song
Oh my goodness, it felt soooo good to get my mermaid on and jump back into the pool after almost 8 weeks!
As a public service announcement, if you are over 50, get your shingles vaccine no matter what the cost. I did not fit the typical patient profile, and it took me down hard.
I was able to kick it in by the 4th lap with this song. Great beat!
Avicii - "Wake Me Up" - 4:09

I had to get a new iPod Shuffle…and new swimming holder from X-1, (formerly H20 Audio)
The armband was going on almost 2 1/2 years - exposed to the Texas sun and heat and water.
It wasn't the seal, but the plastic window which failed - LEAKED!
My little green iPod Shuffle was swimming like a fishie inside!
I attempted to dry it in rice, but when I tried to charge it, both the Shuffle and the charger became extremely HOT after only a few minutes when I checked to see if the power light came back on.
(It didn't).
Fortunately, at their discretion, Apple will sometimes discount a new iPod up to 10% in exchange for the old one. And in my case, after hearing the story, they gave me the 10% off!
X-1's customer service was very supportive and sympathetic. Even due to its age and the fact they no longer make that version anymore, they gave me a very generous discount and free shipping to replace it with the new and more popular one.

Today's Favorite iPod Workout Song
I love 2002, and when I woke up the other day, this song was playing on Pandora. No big surprise, I practically give the thumbs up to all of their music. So I decided to go swimming and put this on my iPod Shuffle.
2002 - "The Sea At Night" - 5:02

Today's Favorite iPod Workout Song
Van Morrison - "Into the Mystic" - 3:28
Actually, into the deep end...of the pool!
The front was starting to come in and the wind was gusting to over 30 mph. It picked up my basket holding my towel and flip-flops and tossed it, everything! Fortunately flip flops float (say that 5 times!) and the Vera Bradley beach towel was so fluffy (and absorbent), it still had enough air bubbles to stay on top of the water. The basket, alas, sunk to its 12' bottom. And the Girl Scout in me had an extra towel in my locker. But trying to wring out that towel was a fun adventure. It wouldn't fit in the swimsuit water extractor, so I got in an extra bicep/tricep workout using a shower towel hook to twist and wring some of the water out.
