Dear ABC, You are almost but not quite forgiven for cancelling "Flash Forward"

This was the song (Amos Lee - "Sweet Pea") they played at the end of "Suburgatory" -- a very cute show on ABC Wednesday night. It is sandwiched in between "The Middle" and "Modern Family" Enjoy before ABC finds out I like this, too.

Guilty Pleasure...

...The Wendy Williams Show! Joel McHale on "The Soup" often makes fun of her, but she is actually a very entertaining and an intelligent woman to watch. Just check out the demographics of the audience. I heart her!!
How ya doin?

Thursday TV is fun again!

Burn Notice is back! Season 3 debuts tonight on USA Network.
Sigh, do you think he goes by Jeff or Jeffrey (or gosh forbid a la Family Circus - Jeffy?!) in real life? L and I were having a discussion about that on the way to school this morning. We were also laughing about one of his lines last season - "Does this look like a cop suit?!" as he flashes the inside of his Armani jacket. No, it doesn't, quite honestly. But with some good sales at Joseph A. Bank, Paul Frederick and a top-notch alterationist (not me!) - pretty close, Sweetie!

More guilty pleasures

Thank you, Karen -- L and I are now hooked on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing 2 (we love Chad!) and Flipping Out. We were watching the repeats this afternoon. Suddenly a $1.5 million house seems like a bargain now!

Which Olympics has the cutest gold medal-winning athletes?

Michael Phelps or the puppies in Puppy Games 2008? (Though I think the goldfish judges are a little more biased towards the water events.) Check Animal Planet for the next showing.

Repeat Your Winners* Thursday - The B's

Burda, Blueberries and Burn Notice - A great combination!

Burda 7925 in glazed magnolia embroidered linen with just a shimmer of silver/pewter metallic. Scored at Jo-Ann's.

Blueberry Torte Squares, inspired by $2 blueberries at Super Target.

And a new episode of Burn Notice tonight.
Hooray for Thursday!

In Plain Sight

In Plain Sight on the USA Network debuted last week and we loved it. Catch the new episode at 9 PM (CDT). Lesley Ann Warren is a hoot, and Cristian de la Fuente from Dancing with the Stars is hot!

Meerkat Manor - The Next Generation

Season 4 begins June 6 on Animal Planet! Teasers say the next generation continues with Rocket Dog as the new Whiskers leader and sister Maybelline forming and leading her own clan, the Aztecs. Talk about sibling rivalry! Also new to note, Stockard Channing replaces narrator, Sean Astin. You go girls!

Carrier (Is it PBS pledge time again?)

Now this is reality TV!
Carrier/USS Nimitz -- it's so good, I'm waiting for a begathon cut in. And Mel Gibson is one of the Executive Producers! Check the website to see when it is being broadcast on your local PBS station.

Real Housewives of New York City

I LOVE this show! I never really got into the Orange County version. This one I can watch the repeats over and over...not glued to the tv but in the background. LuAnn (center) is my favorite, followed closely by Jill (second from the left). The storylines are as good as any soap opera, if not better!

Fashionably Late with Stacy London on TLC

Love, love this show! I only wish I could have some luck finding the featured recipes. (My apologies to those Googling and hoping I had them here. But I can tell you where to get the fabric for Stacy's apron.) I was watching the repeat this afternoon and noticed the apron fabric Stacy was wearing during the cooking segment was the same Paris Eiffel Tower fabric I have in my stash! (blogged about June 24) Between gawking at those huge brownie cookies they were making by the fistful and trying to focus on the apron at the same time, I recall the pockets trimmed in black -- what a great idea! I only have it in a fat quarter, but I think I'm going back to Quilter's Emporium for more to make an apron, too! The fabric is "Friends Around the World" by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Brothers Textiles, Inc.

Kalahari Koncerns

NOW MOZART?! Squiggy, Flower, Whoopi, Kinkajou... Another dark night and day at the Manor. This has been a very sad season indeed. Just when you think resilient Mozart's life will finally turn around with a romantic evening with Wilson (followed by a fire in the desert yet!) -- Wilson gets all testosterone-y and joins the battle between the Commandos and Whiskers, leaving Mozart alone - possibly prey for a roving jackal, omniously shown earlier in the program.

This show has such fervent fans, such as myself, Mozart's death even made the New York Times yesterday - "Death Stalks the Meerkats Yet Again" in the Arts section.

The Journey's End for Flower

Brave Flower, not only welcoming and adopting Axl (named after Axl Rose?) left behind by the Zappas hasty retreat, but valiantly giving her life defending her pups from the Cape snake. Who will become the new dominant female of the Whiskers? Maybelline or Daisy, both already in a family way? Or someone else?

Flower Power!

Meerkat Manor is BACK! Starting this Friday on Animal Planet.
It's like an animal soap opera version of "Dallas" - coincidence it is on Friday nights?! Watch it, you'll get hooked, too.

Today's Favorite iPod Workout Song

The Chambers Brothers, "Time Has Come Today" 4:52
iTunes, Hear It Now! - The Sound of the 60's
Today's stats - 46 minutes, 2.77 miles, 316 calories

The theme song from "Early Edition"! (Wasn't that a great show? And so well-written.) There are several versions on iTunes, including the 11+ minute one I heard on XM last week. . .
