I have spent my life weaving the rainbow, treating light like a piece of embroidery

"I have spent my life weaving the rainbow, treating light like a piece of embroidery"
- Claude Monet

I saw the Impressionists and Post Impressionists exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) yesterday. (I also thought it was neat that their admission stickers we wore were green for St. Patrick's Day!) This quote was in the description next to Monet's "The Artist's Garden at Vetheuil" A perfect match for the potrait of his son, Michel, amongst the oh-so-colorful rows of sunflowers and gladioli in the sunlight.

If you live in the Houston area or plan to visit, you really need to check out this collection of 50 masterpieces from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. It is here through May 23, 2011.
