The Tree and Me

“Look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.”  A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

This tree is over 1,000 years old -- And it is called, "Big Tree"  Big Tree is a coastal live oak and is 11 feet across the trunk, 35 feet around, 89 feet across the crown and 44 feet tall.   It resides in Goose Island State Park in Lamar, Texas, close to Rockport.

(I loved A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, by Betty Smith.  It was one of my favorites growing up.  Tall, like this tree - plus an additional 38 feet, haha!)
